Michael has private client practice which ranges from professionals and individuals to private enterprises, charities and family businesses. He has significant training and experience in the areas of tax and family enterprises as well as assurance engagements for clients. He has advised clients on topics including personal, corporate, trust and international tax issues, business acquisition and dispositions, corporate restructuring and legacy / estate planning.
Michael grew up in Vancouver. He attended the Vancouver Film School straight out of high school and earned a New Media Certificate in 2000. He then completed a degree in marketing with a minor in communications . After working as an intern with Hasbro in Toronto and Nintendo in Vancouver, Michael joined the family business and earned his C.A. designation in 2009 after having successfully passed the qualifying exam as one of the top 50 writers in Canada. Michael has also completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course as well as the UBC Family Enterprise Advisor Program after which he attained the Family Enterprise Advisor designation.
Michael is a member of various associations, including the Canada Tax Foundation, Canadian Young Tax Practitioners, Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors, Canadian Association of Family Enterprises, and Congregation Schara Tzedeck where he acts as the treasurer.
